Why it exists

A shuffled deck spends most of its time showing you cards you already know. That feels productive and isn't — the twenty cards you keep missing are the only ones that need your attention, and they're buried in a stack of two hundred.

BoltFlashcards fixes the ordering. It watches how you actually perform on each individual card and rebuilds the queue around that.

What it does

• Statistics on every individual card Each card keeps its own record — how often you've seen it, how often you got it right, and how it's trending. Not a deck-level score: a per-card one.
• Cards you know show up less Get a card right consistently and its interval stretches out. It stops eating review time it no longer needs.
• Cards you miss come back sooner Miss one and it returns quickly, then keeps returning until you've got it repeatedly — not just once by luck.
• New cards arrive in batches A fresh deck doesn't dump two hundred unknown cards on you at once. New material is introduced a batch at a time, so each group gets learned before the next one shows up.
• Nothing to sign up for No account, no subscription, no ads between cards. Open it and study.

How the scheduling works

The underlying idea is spaced repetition: the interval before you next see a card grows each time you recall it correctly and collapses when you don't. What BoltFlashcards adds is that the decision is made per card from that card's own statistics, and that new material is gated into the rotation in controlled batches rather than all at once.

The practical effect is that a study session stays roughly the same length while its contents shift toward whatever you're currently weakest on.
